AMMAN - JORDAN
Origins and Cultivation
Date palm cultivation in Jordan is one of the oldest agricultural practices in the region, with evidence of its existence dating back thousands of years. The main regions for date farming are the Jordan Valley and the plains of Al-Ghour, which provide fertile soil and an optimal climate for growing high-quality dates. Currently, there are approximately 750,000 palm trees covering over 45,000 dunams, with an annual expansion rate of 10–15%. This long- standing tradition and ideal environment make Jordanian dates highly prized both locally and internationally.
Advantages of Jordanian Dates
Jordanian dates benefit from an ideal climate with high temperatures, low humidity, and mineral-rich soil, all of which contribute to their unique taste, color, and texture. The sustainable farming practices, including drip irrigation and the use of organic fertilizers, ensure high-quality production while protecting the environment. As a result, Jordanian dates are not only delicious but also cultivated responsibly, highlighting both quality and sustainability.
